Halloween

A couple of weekends ago, Jared carved a pumpkin for the girls.  Madison picked out the design.

Our first celebration of the day was at Annabel's preschool.

My little owl ready to go to her trunk or treat.

In line to get candy out in the parking lot at the school.

It is always entertaining trying to get a group shot of two year olds.

Tonight, we ate dinner at the Kenley's and then trick or treated in their neighborhood.

Madison (Tinkerbell) and Reagan the butterfly.

Annabel wanted to join in.

The whole crew that the girls trick or treated with - Reagan, Lili, Madison, Luka, Sam and Annabel

Madison was so excited.

Pumpkin Patch

My parents came to town this weekend.  We took the girls to the pumpkin patch at the Farm Patch.  It had such cute picture spots, a hay maze, and animals to pet.  We had a blast (and it was free).

Golden Gator

Madison's elementary school's mascot is an alligator.  Each six weeks, two kids from each class are chosen as "Golden Gators".  This first six weeks, Madison was one of the chosen kids in her class, and we were so proud of her.  Jared, Annabel, and I got to go to the assembly where she got her award.

Here, her teacher announced that she had received the award, and said that she is kind, respectful, and works hard.

She got a picture with the gator.

And one with all of the other Golden Gators for this six weeks.

Recap of September

It has been a month since I have posted.  September has been a busy month for us.  We have just about adjusted to our new routine with both girls in school and activities.

Speaking of our routine ... Annabel is going to preschool three days a week and loves it there.  Her teachers tell us she especially loves playing outside and with baby dolls, which does not surprise us.  She and Madison go to gymnastics once a week, and they both love it.  Madison is doing really well in kindergarten.  We had our first parent teacher conference today, and her teacher says she is doing great in each of her subjects and making friends.  Her only criticism was how quietly Madison talks.  We are encouraging her to speak up, but are so proud that she is actually talking in class.  It took quite a few months in her preschool classes before she talked.  I am so amazed at how much progress she has made in her reading, writing and drawing skills in just a few weeks.  Madison also got to start AWANAs this year.  I grew up going to AWANAs and love the way it teaches children to hide God's Word in their hearts.  It is going to be good for me too, as I memorize each of the verses alongside her.  Annabel is only two and can't wait to turn three so she can start going to Cubbies.  Madison also is enjoying choir at our church.  Jared and I have started teaching 5th and 6th grade Sunday school.  Working with this age group (and actually being at church on time) is a new experience for us.  We love the kids and are excited to see how we grow with them.

Last month, Jared got to go on a fishing trip in Corpus, and they had great luck.

Annabel on the balance beam

This day was circus day at gymnastics, so Annabel got her face painted.

Last Saturday morning was raining, so the girls pulled pillows and blankets out in the living room and were snuggled up watching movies.  I love sweet sister moments.
